Demetrius Andrade is a man, who has been forever beloved by the purist’s delight, but a fight fan’s fright. As skilled as Andrade is, it is almost obnoxious to say to people how talented Andrade is, because he fights up and down to the level of competition. As my good friend on Twitter ChilltownBoxing says, ‘Guillermo Rigondeaux might be the most skilled fighter, and do things others can’t - it won’t stop me from taking John Riel Casimero over him.’
Andrade has been the fighter’s choice as he has been shunned given his difficult style of being an awkward southpaw. Despite being a two-division world champion, now angling to win a world title in his third weight class, Andrade is looking up at Benavidez, who despite being nine years younger than him has just as big if not a bigger fanbase than himself.
