MVP – Taylor-Serrano III
Katie Taylor MD10 Amanda Serrano
Taylor did what great fighters do, finish a trilogy with a statement.
Alycia Baumgardner UD10 Jennifer Miranda
Baumgardner won, but it was underwhelming. Inactivity has slowed Baumgardner’s career, and now we have to wonder: Is this where she is at, or ring rust?
Shadasia Green SD10 Savannah Marshall
Green got her career-defining win, upsetting Marshall, coming off a two-year layoff in a solid undercard bout.
Ellie Scotney UD10 Yamileth Mercado
Scotney is one of the best women’s boxers out there, and her performance against Mercado isn’t a win; it was a statement.
Cherneka Johnson TKO9 Shurretta Metcalf
Johnson has found her place in boxing at bantamweight. Her power was on display as she got another stoppage win.
Chantelle Cameron UD10 Jessica Camara
Cameron won a hard-fought battle over Camara. Cameron is one of the best out there. The question is, will she get her trilogy with Taylor?
Ramla Ali UD10 Lila Furtado
Furtado bullied (and in my eyes beat) Ali, yet the judges didn’t see it that way. A tough break for both as Furtado doesn’t get the win, and Ali will have to face ridicule for the performance.
Tamm Thibeault TKO5 Mary Casamassa
If Thibeault were a stock, I’d advise buying now. Thibeault looks to be the future women’s middleweight
Sheeraz-Berlanga
Hamzah Sheeraz KO5 Edgar Berlanga
Once Sheeraz found his distance, the fight swung his way. Berlanga was down three times in the fight, and Sheeraz looks like a future titleholder.
Shakur Stevenson UD12 William Zepeda
Stevenson continues to impress as he has the best resume at lightweight and proved a lot against Zepeda.
Subriel Matias MD12 Alberto Puello
Matias becomes a two-time titleholder, outlasting the tricky Puello.
David Morrell SD10 Imam Khataev
It wasn’t Morrell’s best night, but he won. Morrell went down in the fight, but managed to get out with the win. Khataev, a fun 2020 Olympian, now will be known as a fun action fighter.
ProBox TV
Francisco Veron UD10 Vladimir Hernandez
Veron outboxed Hernandez, who never stopped coming forward. A solid main event once again from ProBox TV.
Other notables on the ProBox TV card: bantamweight Katsuma Akitsugi won a 10-round unanimous decision over former title contender Jonas Sultan, junior lightweight Tsendbaatar Erdenebat won a 10-round unanimous decision over Humberto Galindo, junior flyweight Erik Badillo defeated Gerardo Zapata to become the WBC title mandatory. In the TV opener, Karlos Balderas stopped Salvador Briceno in the eighth and final round.
