IBF junior welterweight titleholder Richardson Hitchins will face George Kambosos Jr. in a New York City homecoming. Hitchins looked brilliant in his victory over Liam Paro, Kambosos, since his win over Teofimo Lopez has not been a notable performance. That also goes along with the removal of an excellent trainer, Javiel Centeno, who seemed to get the best out of Kambosos. It could be a good fight, but it is hard not to believe Hitchins has too many advantages leading into this fight.
undercard:
Andy Cruz will face Hironori Mishiro in an IBF lightweight eliminator. With a win, Cruz becomes the mandatory for Vasiliy Lomachenko, if Loma returns to boxing, or would face the interim champion, Raymond Muratalla. Cruz is one of the better fast-tracked fighters in the sport and should make a statement in this fight.
Ernesto Mercado returns against Jonathan Montrel. The junior welterweight bout will be 10 rounds, and though it is nice to see Mercado back, this match-up appears to be a stay-busy type fight.
Junior lightweight Zaquin Moses, who is related to Shakur Stevenson, will fight Carl Rogers. Moses was a good amateur and is developing in the prelims. He has looked good so far.
Welterweight Pablo Valdez is a 42-year-old aiming at making a title run. He faces Cesar Diaz, a guy who is tougher than his record suggests.
Nishant Dev will fight Josue Silva, and I am very high on the junior middleweight Dev.
Adam Maca vs. Rafael Castillo, 4 rounds, bantamweights
Other notable bouts:
Friday on DAZN, Branden Pizarro faces Israel Mercado in a junior welterweight bout on DAZN. A very good club-level main event.
Also on Friday on DAZN, cruiserweight Andrew Tabiti fights Jacob Dickson in Ghana.
Saturday, Rajon Chance will fight in New York. He has some potential at junior featherweight
